Each spring, the streets of the capital welcome runners of the much-anticipated Paris Marathon. Sunday 11 April 2010, there will be around 40 000 people to pursue the same goal: crossing the finish line after an incredible effort. Come and share the festive atmosphere of this superb race in the heart of the City of Light, as athlete, supporter or simply bear witness.
If the New-York marathon remains the most mythical, the Paris Marathon is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful race in the world. The departure on the Champs-Elysees followed by an exceptional crossing of the Place de la Concorde set the tone for the race. You will run on the streets of Paris along the main tourist sites : the Louvre Museum, the Tuileries Gardens, Bastille Square, Orsay Museum and the Eiffel Tower, supported by a very large number of people standing on the pavement. The 200 000 spectators and 70 animations will be a huge support in the toughest moments. The most courageous people will take the challenge and go up the huge Avenue Foch untill the Arc de Triomphe, after 42,195 kms of emotion and suffering.
Each year, Residences-Paris welcomes athletes participating to this contest. Renting one of our furnished apartments will allow you to visit Paris during the days preceding the marathon start and calmly prepare your race. For this our kitchens will be of great help to prepare your pre-race meals. Ideally located, you will live less than 30 minutes away from the starting line, the start this year will be at 8:45 AM.
Do not wait any longer to register (online registration starting from 90 € on the official website of the Paris Marathon) and participate in this incredible running celebration.

Annually, in July, the best cyclists meet on the roads of France to compete the Queen ordeal: The Tour de France. The last stage, that happens in Paris, is the occasion for the public to applaud one last time the cyclists, exhausted by 3 weeks of race and 3600 kilometers. The racers will repeatedly take a circuit that goes form the Champs-Elysees to the Louvre Museum, passing by the Place de la Concorde. A real festival for who likes cycling.
If the Tour is often played in the mountains, the last stage is done at a slower pace before racing in the last kilometers with heavy pedal strokes. Previously, spectators will be able to see the cyclists parading repeatedly on this prestigious route and maybe catch a sight of the Maillot Jaune team drink champagne with the team mates as is the tradition.
Major crossing points of the circuit :
- Champs-Élysées
- Place de la Concorde
- Voie Georges Pompidou
- Terrasse des Tuileries
- Rue de Rivoli
From March 12th to August 1st 2010
In 2010, The Jacquemart-Andre Museum honors Spanish artists. You will be able to discover 50 master pieces of the incredible collection of Perez Simon. At this occasion, several centuries of Spanish Art will be shown including some painting of El greco, Francisco de Goya, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro and Salvadore Dali.
Among the temporary exhibitions not to miss in 2010 in Paris, the one at the Jacquemart-Andre Museum is with no doubt our favorite recommendation. The private collection of the collector Perez Simon is indeed one of the richest and complete in Spanish art form Greco to Dali, through Murillo, Sorola or Juan Gris. You will have the opporunity to compare the artwork of those great masters from the Spanish school. Spanish school that they stamped with their work. An unpublished perspective of the traditions, codes and ruptures of the Iberian art from the Renaissance to our days. Do not forget to schedule a visit while in Paris !
