Details of the apartment
With awesome view onto the Mabillion place and Saint-Germain des Pres market Résidence Mabillon is ideally situated in the centre of Paris on the Left Bank of the Seine river. Perfect location nearby metro station (line 4) and bus stops in one of the most beautiful districts of Paris allows to discover easily the city.
Apartment of 40 sq.m. total area is much more spacious than any standard hotel room. You possess all necessary equipment such as internet, phone calls for free to more than 90 destinations and satellite TV. Moreover the kitchen was modified in autumn 2009 in order to be suitable for cooking any dishes you get used to doing at home. There are stove, oven (microwave), household appliances, tableware. Spacious wardrobes allow you to place all your things and feel comfortable like at home.
To my regret there is no lift so please be ready to go up to 5th floor. Nevertheless I hope it would not be an obstacle. Besides I would be glad to help you to lift and get down your luggage while arriving and leaving.

Open from Monday to Saturday until 22:00 and Sunday morning until 13:00, this supermarket is an very good address for shopping at any hour of the day at very reasonable prices. Food products, fresh vegetables, meat and fish, soda and fruit juice, liquor and wine, this shop also offers all products for home maintenance.

Baguette or pain de champagne (country bread), sweet or savoury, this bakery/pastry offers a large range of quality products. Our suggestion : the inevitable home-made macarons. As a proof of its excellent reputation there can be sometimes a long waiting line to endure. Remember to avoid peak hours to avoid the risk of having to wait a few minutes to reach the counter.

Anecdote
In 1811 Saint-Germain market replaced the Fair under the same name founded in XIV century by the abbots of the Saint Germain Church nearby. The four streets - Félibien, Lobineau, Clément et Mabillon - around the market carries the names of the famous scientists of the Saint-Germain des Prés Abbey, the most ancient one in Paris.
We have stayed in this apartment for 11 nights in October. The Apartment was tiny by the American Standards and on 5th Floor with no Elevator (but this was not a big deal since it helped us to burn off all of the extra calories and stay in shape even on vacations).
The Apartment is located in an Excellent location right in the hearth of Saint-Germain-des-Prés (6th district of Paris) very safe area with many Stores, Bakeries, Restaurants and Coffee Shops. 10-15 min walk to Louvre and North Dame. The Metro is right across the street and there are 2 other stations close nearby.
Definitely would consider to stay here again when in Paris.
